    Sew Many Bikes Returns

It’s your favorite craft club on wheels!

Join us for another year of Sew Many Bikes, a bike ride to meet new and old friends who love to sew and celebrate the passionate sewing and garment making entrepreneurs in our fair city. Show off your favorite me-made outfit, or just come to get inspired.

This year we’ll start on Milwaukie’s Main Street (close to the Orange line MAX) at Sewcial Studies fabric store and learning space.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn “multi modal” transportation. Take your bike on the MAX or Trimet bus to/from start/stop points.

    1. 10:00 AM Sewcial Studies
    2. Marika Zimmerly Studio, Sara Flynn of Off Beat Quilts, & Portland Modern Quilt Guild
    3. Lords Luggage – Andy’s in-store workshop and bike bags are legendary (not to mention the jigsaw puzzle competitions.)
    4. Ritual Dyes – Yarn dying trend setters and the folks behind Sacred Sheep & Crafternoons at the PAM theatre.
    5. Josephine’s Dry Goods (estimated arrival around 2 pm) where there will also be a Textile Division button trunk show.

Matty, manager at Daydream & Favorite Neighbors Wine next door to Josephine’s, is going to open early for us with beverages and food available plus outdoor seating for socializing! We often daisy chain bikes outside and/or watch bikes together without any issues in the past at this final stop. If you were on the ride that ended at Bar Norman, you know, it was perfect. Also Magna Kusina is amazing, Libre desserts are highly praised, Jacqueline’s is now closer, and my personal favorite, Lauretta Jeans, is just a smidge away.

The ride is 12 miles total, and should last between 3 and 3.5 hours, there will be 5 stops on this ride to meet makers, shop keepers and craft entrepreneurs.

We’ve made our best attempt at finding low-traffic streets, safe crossings and minimal inclines for an inclusive no-drop bike ride. This means there’s folks at the tail to make sure no one gets left behind.

We go SLOW and enjoy the adventure. This is not a speed run but a casual meander. See previous rides here and here.

Many of us are on ebikes and even rented ebikes like the Biketown ebikes. You don’t have to have a fancy, new, or even bike of your own! Rent or borrow! It’s all in good fun.

See entire map listed here. No RSVP required. Just show up at Sewcial Studies.

This ride is organized and owned by Marne.
